As an Awaken Team Member, we hope that you are in or pursuing community and you want to take the next step in your relationship with Christ. Awaken Church exists to help others to Hear, Know and Live for Christ by creating a welcoming and safe environment where people can have Authentic Community and Biblical Transformation.

SERVING CRITERIA / EXPECTATIONS

I UNDERSTAND Awaken Church encourages people who serve to be actively pursuing what it means and takes to be a devoted follower of Jesus. This means being committed to growing personally in their my with the Lord and willing to abide by the ten Core Values set by Awaken.

I COMMIT to living in authentic, biblical community. This means confessing my sin to the Lord and sharing those sins and struggles with my team leader and other followers of Jesus in my Awaken community group who is partnering with me for spiritual growth. (1 John 1:5-10; James 5:16)

I COMMIT to biblical conflict resolution and am able to work in harmony with others. I must not be a person who consistently causes disputes or has consistent "personal conflicts" with other people. (Philippians 2:1-4; Ephesians 4:2-3; Matthew 18:15-20)

I COMMIT To excellence in whatever capacity I am serving. I understand that as a serving team member my personal life will be observed by others and I am open to teaching rebuke correction and training in righteousness. (Ephesians 4:17-5:8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Serving at Awaken Church involves initiating a LOT of conversations with people you may not know, as we welcome them, get to know them, share the gospel, etc. how comfortable are you in initiating a conversation with someone you may not know? *

I stay in my shell.

It feels kind of awkward but I can make myself do it.

I enjoy it, but I have to be intentional to make it happen.

I naturally and consistently find myself having conversations with people I do not know.

I've never met a stranger and love talking with new people!

At Awaken Church, we believe in a Sit & Serve Model (This means you sit in one service and sit in the other). We believe if you have taken nothing from Jesus then you have nothing with which to serve Him.
